Critical link between TRAIL and CCL20 for the activation of [T.sub.H]2 cells and the expression of allergic airway disease
Article Abstract:
The study discusses the importance of the tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) and CCL20 chemokine in activating [T.sub.H]2 lymphocyte cells. An analysis reveals that TRAIL is abundantly expressed in the airway epithelium of allergic mice and plays an important role in the pathogenesis of asthma by instigating enhanced production of CCL20 and later, [T.sub.H]2 cells.

[T.sub.H]17 cells contribute to uveitis and scleritis and are expanded by IL-2 and inhibited by IL-27/STAT1
Article Abstract:
The investigation related to association of T-helper type 17 cells ([T.sub.H]17) to immune-mediated diseases, human uveitis and scleritis suggest that [T.sub.H]1 cells might mitigate uveitis by antagonizing the [T.sub.H]17 phenotype through the interferon-[gamma]-mediated induction of interleukin-27 in target tissue.
